Andrea Antonelli

Andrea is born in Castiglione del Lago, Umbria, home of motocross (Gioiella International racetrack). His father, a good soccer player with no mechanical ability to speak of, starts him off in soccer and lets him have some fun with a mini-motorcycle. When he debuted on the new big wheels of the 125 Sport his talent was immediately evident, so much so that, had it not been for Melandri who preceded him, he would have received the title of youngest ever motorcycle pilot ever to win a circuit race. From his father he learned love of practise and training, from his uncle his passion for motorcycles and so, after his experience with the Italian, European and Spanish Grand Prix 125s Championships, he finally arrived at the four geared bikes.

He immediately showed his talent with these big cylinder bikes, so much so that he was on the podium of the most important European super bike tracks. His constant training and the Motard and motocross races, they say, gave him his sensitivity to the tuning of the motorcycles he races, and his daredevil riding have become synonymous with spectacular racing and domination.

At this beginning of the 2008 racing season he is the European vice-champion in the Superstock 600 category and is getting ready to race in the World Cup Superstock 1000 race, as well as substituting for a team mate in the two World Supersport 600 in Qatar and Australia which will give him, it is hoped, the charge he needs to race well in this very important and richly satisfactory season, just like the one that just finished.
